UIC's ERIM governance meeting on January 21st, 2015 decided that TUD has to deliver the colouring scheme for DE: DB Netz/FV NE with the Beta version in mid March 2015. The following partners will adopt this colouring scheme to their national usage:

  • FR: SNCF Infra/RFF
  • NO: Jernbaneverket
  • CH: BLS / SBB
  • BE: Infrabel
  • AT: ÖBB Infra

Other partners (Network Rail, ...) may add their colouring schemes too. All of these colouring schemes shall be integrated in the ready product and installed too.

According to the RfP, our proposal and the final contract, the following functionality is forseen and rudimentary implemented:

  • One default colour schema for train types and train number ranges is directly implemented in the software. This is used, if no configuration file is available.
  • This colour schema may be partially overwritten by additional "colour rules" for certain train types and/or train number ranges within a dialog by the user. These "changes" may be saved to the configuration file.
  • In case of a configuration file, its colour schema is preferred to the software-internal default colour schema.

The train type colour rules are preferred to the train number range colour rules.

See #35 for enhanced functionality regarding colour schemas.

At the railML-timetable-workgroup-meeting (2015-03-16, Vienna) other developers commited that colouring trains for categories is very typical. Colouring for different train number schemas is already sophisticated and therefore not implemented in most tools.
